Fear and Anxiety in the World and in the Consulting Room 17/03/2018 at The Little Theatre, Wells, BA5 2PS

We live in troubled times where it can be difficult to identify and manage the fear and anxiety that pervades our society.  It inevitably comes into the counselling room, whether explicitly or subconsciously.

Playback Theatre is a unique form of improvised theatre enabling audiences to tell their stories.  Created by Jonathan Fox in New York, since 1975 Playback has found its way into diverse settings in 17 countries.

People from the audience will be invited to share moments from their life, in or outside the counselling room, and then watch them brought to life as the company immediately recreates the essence of their story using music, movement, dance and song.

The Playback Theatre is a group of Drama and Music therapists who have extensive  experience of using the arts as a dynamic and interactive form of communication within the voluntary sector and in the NHS.  They have experience of working as therapists with people with learning difficulties, those experiencing mental distress, disabled people, young and older people, in schools, community venues, prisons and psychiatric hospitals.

They specialise in using playback as a way of safely exploring internal and external processes, giving shape to the unconscious within therapeutic groups or teams.

They provide an experience which is extraordinary and not to be missed!

A Bring and Share lunch will be provided by Members of the Collective.  There is some parking at The Little Theatre.  There is additional long term parking on the upper storey of Waitrose' car park, and by The Good Earth.
